Get a Beautiful, Natural-Looking Smile with All-on-Four Dental Implants

Unlike traditional dentures that rest on your gums, all-on-four dentures are attached to dental implants. Dental implants are titanium posts inserted into your jawbone. As the implants heal, they fuse with your jawbone, allowing the implants to form a stable base for your dentures to attach to. This stronger base lets you chew with more pressure and keeps your dentures from shifting.

All-on-four implant-supported dentures will not move or fall out in public. They look and feel natural, and you can brush and floss just like normal. If properly cared for, implant supported dentures can last a lifetime.

How All-on-Four Implant-Supported Dentures Work

During your initial visit, Dr. Tredinick will review your medical and dental history, take digital X-rays of your jaw and create impressions of your teeth and gums to make models for your dentures.

If you are not already wearing dentures, the doctor will make a temporary set for you to use until your all-on-four dentures are ready. These temporary dentures allow Dr. Tredinick to determine the best placement for your final dentures, you can use them immediately, and they can serve as a backup set of dentures.

The All-on-Four Dental Implant Process

First, the doctor inserts titanium dental implants into the jaw bone. The implants are actually posts that fuse with the bone of your jaw, creating a strong, stable base that your dentures snap into rather than using adhesives to secure your dentures to your gums. Implant-supported dentures are stronger, look natural and won’t move, come loose or fall out.

All-on-four implant-supported dentures are a complete set of porcelain or acrylic teeth attach to the upper or lower jaw using only four titanium implants on each jaw.

With this procedure you will have two surgeries. During the first, the doctor places the all-on-four implants into your jawbone underneath your gums. After allowing your implants and gums to heal for three to six months, the doctor will perform a second surgery to expose the tops of the implants. At this time, she will ensure your dentures fit on your all-on-four implants correctly and will schedule your follow-up visits and maintenance.

Maintaining Your All-on-4 Implant-Supported Dentures

Caring for your new all-on-four dentures is extremely easy. We’ll schedule regular checkups and deep cleanings when necessary. Dr. Tredinick will ensure your all-on-four dentures continue to fit perfectly and are not shifting or rubbing against your gums or causing sore spots.

When caring for your implants on your own, you’ll merely follow a standard, everyday dental health procedure. This includes brushing, flossing and rinsing.

Why Try All-on-Four Dental Implants?

All-on-4 dentures are more stable than regular dentures. You no longer have to worry about your dentures becoming loose or falling out. You’ll find that it is easier to speak. You can return to eating your favorite foods.

There is a difference in cost between traditional dentures and all-on-4 implant-supported dentures. The Coastal Periodontics team can answer any questions you may have regarding cost, payment plans or insurance coverage. The process may take longer than getting traditional dentures.
